After releasing a reimagined Chuck inspired by Nike’s pioneering Space Hippie efforts, Converse has linked back up with A-COLD-WALL* to unveil the Sponge Crater.
As the first sneaker of its kind, the limited-edition silhouette serves as both an exploration and exaggeration of Crater foam and embraces the age-old adage of “less is more.”
Reimagined through ACW*’s atypical contemporary aesthetic, the unique avant-garde design takes on a new last, shape and proportion through a handful of components, most notably, the first full-body structure crafted from Crater foam which speaks to the silhouette’s visual codes and also ensures optimum comfort.
The collaborative project is then further elevated with revolutionary CX foam underfoot and an egg-crate style traction pod outsole. Dressed in a creamy off white hue, a flat-knit upper helps promote breathability, while a spandex collar, pull tabs and exaggerated heel kicks round out the design and provides ease of entry.
Take a look at the Converse x A COLD WALL* “Sponge Crater” in the shots below and cop the collaboration via converse.com, A-COLD-WALL.com and at select retailers from June 23.
