Our discovery today brings us out of our comfort zone. Indeed, we cover mostly electronic music or Hip-Hop/ Indie RnB. Today we fell on GHOSTTOKYO and we became addicted to their latest single “How Groovy”.
We could imagine the song in a movie or a TV show original soundtrack.
We particularly appreciated the special vocal lines and performances. Somehow, the overall song reminded us of peace and loving music as well. Maybe we should avoid to label “GHOSTTOKYO ” with one specific genre.
Filled with melancholic vibes, unique voice and blending strong lyrics (GHOSTTOKYO) over a rock-groovy infused production, the mysterious artist hits the right notes on a song and make it a peaceful and loving song.
We can’t wait for you to press play:
We invite you to discover his music right now and to discover our conversation with him below:
1. Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My name is GHOSTTOKYO and I don’t really give out my real name.
2. Where are you from and Where are you based?
I’m from a small town in Illinois born and raised.
3.At What age did you start making music?
I started making music at 11, but then I quit until I was 12, then quit again. I didn’t post anything on the internet back then. I started making music again in May 2019, but it wasn’t up to my standards until November of that same year.
4. What genre would you consider yourself?
I would consider myself alternative rock, but I don’t really fit in with the rest of the emo artists, I went for the 60s, 70s theme with all the flowers and words like groovy in the music.
5. Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
My latest track “How Groovy” has a music video with it and it just represents peace and love because I think there is a lot of hate in the world today. The song title comes from a song in “Scooby-Doo & The Alien Invaders” with the same name. In the song, I reference malt shops, beaches, and just being at peace with yourself.
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
If I could perform with anyone it would have to be my brother @1342mali, as we are so close and the energy would be insane.
