EMERGING ARTIST AISHA J UNVEILS NEW ALBUM “UNRAVELED”

We discovered the extraordinary Aisha J thanks to her latest beautiful album entitled “Unraveled”. We immediately fell in love with this 9 tracks generous project.

Reassuring voices, strong messages like in “Messed Up”, from the album and also our favorite song, incredible musical arrangements, and flawless production: this is what we call real music. With such a release, the independent artist has a bright future ahead of her. We can’t wait to hear and see how far she will go.  Definitely, a singer that you should see an eye on.

These are songs that make you want to learn the words and sing along. They emit positive vibes and are just very welcoming. There are no smoke and mirrors employed in this production, as vocals and instrumentals shine through clearly, with minimal processing. The singing is particularly excellent and soulful, this being one of those genres like R&B or lounge where you just can’t fake it. Moving Forward is spiritually upbeat, musically fun, and comes with a hearty dose of humanity.

There’s actually a lot of variety on this album. In fact, just when you think you’ve got the sound pinned down, the next track throws you a curve

This honestly is an album that’s full of surprises a lot of refined talent here, and I hope this project gets the exposure it deserves.

We invite you to discover her music right now and to discover our conversation with her below:

1. Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
Hey Hey! My name is Aisha Jamila Curtiss also known as Aisha J.
2. Where are you from and Where are you based?
I was born and raised in Brooklyn NY and I’m still here. I love my city! Maybe one day I Will move if life takes me elsewhere but for now BK is the place to be.
3.At What age did you start making music?
I started writing songs around 20 years old. I have always loved to write whether it be poetry or just in my diary. But I realized I was really good at it and could also sing so I started looking upbeats on Youtube and creating music. But when I was 26/27 I started actually taking it seriously and writing music and connecting with producers that would be able to help me create some dope music.
4. What genre would you consider yourself?
My genre is definitely R&B Soul for sure.  But sometimes it’s hard to put me in a category cause I love to sing everything but for the sake of a title definitely R&B Soul.
5. Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
I recently just came out with an Album called Unraveled! It’s my first album evvvaaa so I am super excited. I worked with a few new producers so that was also exciting to have different vibes to work with when it came to creating this project. Unraveled is an album really to get to know me and who I am and some things I have gone through this year and past years. This year so far has been somewhat of a fail, haha but there have also been some diamonds that made this year a bit better so it’s super bittersweet but I’m learning from this experience.  I wanted to get personal and show my sensitive side,  show that I still found love,  that I learned from love lost, that I’m strong enough to come out of something stressful, that I’m sexy beautiful, and proud to be a woman of influence and more. Unraveled album is unraveling little golden nuggets about me and my story! Some of it at least!
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
This is a tough question cause there are so many!! But I’m a hardcore Beyoncé fan and I respect her artistry and performance and she and I can dance out boootay ooonnn!  Lady Gaga as well. She gives me all my theater vibes and I think we would slay a duet!!
7.Where can fans find you? List all your social media links
Thanks for the interview!!! You can find me on
