1. Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My real name is Joar Nordli, but Forest Taylor is my stage name. I figured my real name would be difficult to say out loud internationally, so a friend and I went on this name generator and just generated a lot of names and combined some of the ones we liked the most into Forest Taylor.
2. Where are you from and Where are you based?
I am from Norway. I grew up in a small town in the northern part of Norway, but now I live in Oslo. Norway capital
3.At What age did you start making music?
I have always been interested in music and my dad has been one of those reasons. I’ve always had either a guitar, a drum kit or some sorts of keys laying right next to me. I began producing and writing for myself around the age of 15. I later studied a year of production at Trøndertun which is in Trondheim. It wasn’t until I moved to Oslo that I started releasing music and getting more invested
4. What genre would you consider yourself?
I honestly don’t know which genre to place myself in because I am influenced by so many genres… But if I had to answer it, it would probably be somewhere between sad rap/emo rap, but it’s so fused with both pop and at times elements from EDM and hip hop. The people that have inspired my style and sound would be Lil peep, Post Malone, Trophy Eyes, Smrtdth, Blink-182, MGK.. the list could go on forever.
Lately, I’ve been getting into a lot of punk and rock and I think people will hear it in my next release!
5. Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
My latest single Stuck is a song about having this one person on your mind 24/7 even though u weren’t perfect together. I feel like almost everyone has had this one person at some point in their life. It’s hard to explain the feeling you develop for the other, where at one point you depend on them to be there but they are also the reason for you being unhappy, which leads to you being dependent on them again. it’s a vicious circle. I “like” to think that this is the person one dates when both are at their lows in life, and really can’t make any rational decisions. The bottom line is, having this person stuck on your mind, sucks…
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
If I had the opportunity to perform with any artist it would have to be Lil Peep (rip). I have been listening to him for years and there’s just something about his melodies and lyrics that hits home with me.
