1) Hi UniqueSince3! How are you?
I have been doing good thanks for asking. I am currently working at a Pizza
Parlor right now called Shakeys and also close to finishing up school for my
Associate’s degree for Public Health at East Los Angeles College also known
as ELAC. I have been working there for 2 years and does every position,
Food Runner, Dough Maker, Fryer, Pizza Cook, Game Room Attendent, and
Dishwasher. Only position I don’t know is Cashier but that will change soon.
2) Where are you from?
I am from the city Bell Gardens, California, which is located in the Los
Angeles metropolitan area also known as Los Angeles County. It’s also
part of the Gateways Cities Region which is a largely urbanized region
located in southeastern Los Angeles County. Bell Gardens is notiable
for being one of only six Los Angeles County cities out of 88 to permit
casino gambling, as well as being home of the oldest building in Los
Angeles County. The city was named after James George Bell who was an
American businessman. The gardens in it’s name derives from the many
Japanese who were here during the early Bell Gardens existence established
rice fields and vegetables gardens.
3) How did you get into music?
I got into music at a young age but at first it was not Hip Hop. I say I liked
my first ever song in the year 2004 when I had a PlayStation 1 at the time
and the game called MVP Baseball 2004. The song I would always replay
was C’mon C’mon by The Von Bondies. I didn’t understand the meaning of the
song or the lyrics at the time but now looking back at it, it totally makes sense
being a young adult now. My first Hip Hop song that I ever liked had to be
Smack That by Akon and Eminem, the beat was too fire for me honestly
just liked how it sounded. Another Hip Hop Song I liked after that was by 50 cent
Just A Lil Bit, the best beat I have ever heard to this day and his flow on that
was and to this day still fire. I did not start writing lyrics until my sophomore
year in High School, learning about what is a hook also known as a chorus,
what a verse is, an intro and outro, and a bridge. I also got more inspired when
I saw young artist making it big at the time like Lil Skies, YBN Nahmir, etc…
I thought you had to be a certain age to be in the music industry but I guess not,
seeing that made me want to reach my goals and dreams not as fast but as young
as possible. This was when I decided I wanted to become a rapper and recorded my
first couple songs in the year 2019. I had all my songs from 2019 on all platforms
but removed them except one which is still on all platforms today and that song is
called Unknown Future. Fast forward to the year 2022 and I’ve been consistent
releasing a new song once a month to show this year I’m doing this for reals and
planning to stick with it for a long time.
4) What is your greatest achievement as a musician?
I would have to say my greatest achievement as a musician so far would not only
have to be getting my first 100,000 streams on Spotify but also making a love song
since I always wanted to make one and that song is Make You Mine. Once I wrote
the lyrics and picked the beat for it, I had to record it because I knew I made the
love song I always wanted to write and create.
5) What are the 3 words that describe your music?
1) Motivational
2) Hype
3) Emotional
6)Who is one artist you wish you could work with?
I wish I could work with Ariana Grande. You have these great songs where you
got Hip Hop artists and singers on a song together and they are bangers, you can
tell they both put a lot of effort and hard work to make sure it’s good from both the
rapper and singer’s side, not only that but the chemistry between 2 artists from
different genre’s must match for it to work out, not only musically wise but also
personality wise as well. Yes I know it’s not going to be easy getting her on a song
let alone the business aspect of the whole thing, you just never know since life is
always full of surprises.
7) Tell us about any new music you have coming out? When is coming out?
I have 2 new songs coming out a month apart of each other since I do release once
a month. I have one for June called Her Acrylic Nails, which is a club song since
it’s a Tyga x Offset type beat and since many girls I known throughout school and
some of my female coworkers say having these nails make them feel like a bad
B****. I am not saying the whole cuss word because I don’t like and don’t want
to cuss in my music so I’m just shorting it out to three letters using bih instead
of saying the whole five letter word. The first 2 bars from the hook are as
follow’s “Her Acrylic Nails make her feel like a bad bih, don’t wanna hear you
talk she wanna hear the money talk”. Since the nails the females get are not cheap,
which is why I put “don’t want to hear you talk she wanna hear the money” talk
which refers to her nails and every time they move their fingers and up and down
on like a flat surface like a table or something all you hear is just those nails hitting
the surface over and over again. The song I have for July is called Not Afraid. The
song’s meaning behind not afraid is meaning life moves very fast and also not
being afraid of death. The short summary for this would be something unexpected
happen to a loved one and all of a sudden they are no longer with us, you
remember being a teenager like if it was yesterday and now, you’re already a mom
or dad having your own family, Questioning about life in some kind of way, I
cannot explain it but hopefully the song Not Afraid makes you understand what
I’m trying to get at here.
8) Anything else you want the audience to know about you?
Yes I do so my name UniqueSince3 has a personal meaning to it. It is me
being diagnosed at the age of 3 with Autism in the mild form. My parents
were saddened when they heard the news thinking I’m not going be a normal
kid and might have problems throughout life and stuff like that due to doctors
saying I won’t be social, I won’t get married, I’m going to have a hard time at
school, etc… but so far I’ve been proving them wrong graduating high school
from Bell Gardens High, making Honor Roll throughout my school years, getting
the Lancer award for both Cross Country and Track in high school. Our
high school mascot was a Lancer so that’s why it was called the lancer award,
it’s not MVP but basically being a good teammate and almost everyone liked
having you as teammate for your personality and for our word hard on and off the
track. My name means and I quote “Different since 3 years old” saying my life
changed when I turned 3 with the diagnosis of Autism.
