A CONVERSATION WITH NEWCOMER ‘BUPPY’, OUR BEST DISCOVERY OF THE WEEK

Today, we met with one of the best and most surprising discoveries. He goes by the name of Buppy, he is from Los Angeles, and his latest single “Alexis Texas” is our new addiction.

You can tell he really has spent a lot of time fine-tuning his recording skills, because the mix is crisp and clear, and the sonic qualities are just very pleasing to the ear. He’s not afraid to put his voice out front, and his delivery is solid enough to carry the song.

The production quality is very high end for an alternative rap song, with excellent clarity and a clean, punchy mix. Buppy has a straightforward, rhythmic, and no-nonsense delivery style. He also low-key demonstrates an ability to switch speeds on a dime, hinting at his true power level at various moments throughout the song. Overall, this is a solid, energetic, and worthy release.

Quietly powerful, this jam is professionally put together and hovering just under the radar, ready to be found.

We invite you to discover his music right now and to discover our conversation with him below
1.Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My name is Ed, but I’m known as Buppy to the music community.
2.Where are you from and Where are you based?
I am from Park City, Utah but I recently relocated to Los Angeles, California, to further pursue my music career.
3.At What age did you start making music?
I started making music when I was in 5th grade. I used to play video games a lot, so I would create my own EDM soundtracks for when I gamed. Nothing serious, just hated the soundtracks in the games and I wanted to go out and make my own. Looking back on it, this is where my production started.
4.What genre would you consider yourself?
I would consider myself a genre-bending artist. I have tracks that would be labeled as indie, and I also have tracks that would be labeled as emo-rap, as well as various other genres. Overall, most would consider me an alternative-rap artist.

5.Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
My most recent project was the release of my new song, “Alexis Texas” as a music video. The video opens up to me sleeping in the place as my album cover to my debut album, “Bedroom Tapes, Vol. 1”. The video follows me, who is chasing a girl deemed “Alexis Texas” throughout the video. I am constantly ignoring my “Ex Bitch”, the lesser-seen girl in the video. In the end, I pick up “Alexis Texas” and I get to ride with her. I end the video off giving a comical concert… to a bunch of Me’s. The video was supposed to delve into the wild side of my mind, flushing out some of the crazy ideas pent up inside my head.
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
I would love to open up for Trippie Redd in a concert. That is a long-lasting dream of mine. Who knows maybe one day I will.
7.Where can fans find you? List all your social media links?
