Our goal at-the Further is to discover the artists from today and tomorrow, but especially those who bring new sound and messages to the table.
Kwajo is our artist of the day. He comes straight from Virginia and he creates out of the box, and strays from the norm with his latest release “I Got”
The young creative who takes influence from the many locations and musical styles in the state unveils a futuristic flow between hip-hop and R&B, as well as epic and flawless production.
“I Got” is promising and puts lights on a new generation of rappers who are not afraid to bring new vibes to the table.
The audio quality is solid, even though the mix is intentionally organic and low key. This jam is definitely fun to listen to, but I highly recommend checking it out. A worthy and original effort, ” I Got” offers a sneak preview of more cool things to come from this up and coming artist.
“I Got” is a success, from the creativity to the lyrics, and you should press play right now:
We invite you to discover his music right now and to discover our conversation with him below:
1.Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My name is Nathan “Kwajo” Nyamedi (pronounced kwuh- joe)
2.Where are you from and Where are you based?
I am born and raised in Virginia and I’m based in Loudoun county.
3.At What age did you start making music?
I’ve been musically inclined basically my whole life but I didn’t start actually writing songs and recording until I was 17 going into my senior year of high school.
4.What genre would you consider yourself?
I like to refer to myself as an “artist” and not strictly a “rapper”. If you look at my discography and all the features I’ve done I don’t restrict myself to one genre, I like to be open about pretty much anything because I love stepping out of my comfort zone, trying new things, and seeing how far I can push myself creatively.
5.Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
I recently dropped a single in November called “I GOT” (along with a video). “I GOT” is me reflecting on my life at that point in time. Looking at what I had and realizing where I needed to advance from there. It wasn’t anything too fancy, just me giving myself a quick reality check. I always want to be 100% authentic with all of the music I make so I thought this was a pretty cool way of keeping that streak going.
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
If I were to pick one artist to perform with it would be Saba without a doubt. He’s my favorite rapper of all time and the main reason why I started rapping myself. His ability to be vulnerable about dark places in his life while telling it in such a lyrical and unique way is very admirable and inspirational especially to a young artist like me who is trying to build a career around authenticity.
7.Where can fans find you? List all your social media links
You can find me on virtually all streaming platforms by just searching “Kwajo” and you can follow me on Instagram @Kwajooo, and Twitter @nathanyamedi16.
