So out of nowhere today, I had something great to review. We started the day on the right foot thanks to our discovery: an emerging drummer who goes by the name of Math Drumming.
We were already impressed by his surprising music thanks to his latest track“Progressive Mathrock Instrumental”, ft. Rodrigo Andrion.
This progressive mathrock collaboration episode features Brazilian progrock multi-instrumentalist Rodrigo Andrion. It consists of a heavy distorted bass guitar, raunchy sounding electric guitars, and a synthesizer equipped with a wide array of eclectically dissonant sounds.
The drum track provided by Donnie Bell (MathDrumming.com) opens up with an 11/8 groove on the kick, snare, and hi-hat. There is also a 4:3 polyrhythm that swings the eighth note for those who enjoy listening to jazz. The tempo also changes several times between 150bpm, 140bpm, and 110bpm. Listeners will have fun figuring out this genre of music!
Math Drumming offers the most extensive library of polyrhythm, odd meter, metric modulation, and fractional time signature grooves for all drummers, beginner to advanced-high. Don’t be a one beat drummer! Step out of the common box of 4/4 and play a different rhythm for every song.
We can’t wait to see how far he will go. Listen to his music now and stay tuned:
