Guitarist, producer and record label owner Oakley Grenell has emerged from his Melbourne studio set to showcase his 15th release in 18 years. The man behind projects such as reggae band Otautahi Allstars and Rolling Stone’s 4 out 5 star rated album ‘Moving On’, has surfaced with his new single ‘Frenemy’, featuring Auckland dancehall queen Rubi Du.
The new video single is a synth driven ragga dancehall track layered with Rubi Du’s zeitgeist lyrics in her unique singjay style. With Johnny Hooves mixing and Hospital Records Dan Gresham (aka Nu-Tone) on mastering duties, ‘Frenemy’ is a signal of intent by the Central Records owner – an opening salvo in an ambitious plan to release five EPs in 15 months.
