1.Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My real name is Vasco Faria but I chose Couto, one of my middle names, as my stage name because it sounded a bit more unique and memorable.
2.Where are you from and Where are you based?
My parents are portuguese but I was born in Chicago. We moved when I was 5 and I’ve been living in London now for just over 12 years.
3.At What age did you start making music?
I was the lead singer and guitarist in a band from the ages of 10-12 but left music behind for a while. In the summer of 2020 I got bored of listening to other people’s music and decided to try make my own… so here we are.
4.What genre would you consider yourself?
I would consider myself a melodic pop rapper. I’m not a full blown lyricist or singer but I blend both of these aspects to try and boost the listening experience. However, I only started making music less than a year ago so I’m obviously still trying to find my sound.
5.Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
“Safety Off” is about a hypothetical toxic relationship written from the perspective of one of the people in the relationship. The song is only 2 minutes long but it’s filled to the brim with energy. This crazy amount of energy immerses the listener in the arguments that are happening in this toxic relationship.
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
I would definitely love to perform with The Kid Laroi. I love the energy and power in his vocal performances as-well as his ability to drop insanely catchy melodies. I’m also very inspired to have reach his level of versatility.
