CHECKPOINTS IS OUR DISCOVERY OF THE DAY

As you may already know, our redaction loves creativity and aims to highlight artists who aren’t scared to bring new musical worlds on the table.

We no longer have to present you Checkpoints, one of our best discoveries for a few months now. The producer is a regular of our redaction thanks to his addictive music. The hip-pop beatmaker has established himself among those to absolutely follow.

Checkpoints’ style is professional yet fun. His beats are trump tight all night, and like Ivan Drago, not afraid to fight.

Released a few days ago, “Stimulated” is an invitation to discover more of Checkpoints,  mind, doubts, and struggles. The artist shares his heart and soul through the hip pop-infused beat, the sample unveiling a gloomy voice, and the emotional piano.

It was only right to have a conversation with the talented Checkpoints Below.

Meanwhile, discover one of our favorite tracks from “Checkpoints”:

We invite you to discover his music right now and to discover our conversation with him below:
1. Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My real name is Rory Moldofsky and my stage name is Checkpoints.
2. Where are you from and Where are you based?
I am from Toronto Canada and still live here today
3.At What age did you start making music?
I started making music at age 16.
4. What genre would you consider yourself?
My main area is hip hop; however, I bring much more to the table. I pride myself on my versatility and ability to produce for any artist, no matter the genre. For instance, currently I am executive producing a Griselda-style thug rap album, a smooth jazz rap album, a couple r&b projects, and some east coast wu tang type stuff. My musical influences are so broad that my songs often sound like a blend of many genres.
5.Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
My concept of my latest remix project called “The Saucepot vol. 1” was essentially to take all these well-known hip hop acapellas and completely repurpose them to create new and unique musical experiences. The project featured remixes of artists such as Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Freddie Gibbs, Eminem, and Jay Z, all over my diverse and creative production. Taking well known songs and morphing them into something new is no easy feat which is why I am so proud of how this tape came out.

6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
If I could perform with one artist, I would pick Denzel Curry because we would absolutely tear the place up.
