1.Can you please tell our readers your real name as well as your stage name?
My real name is Chaithanya but that’s a bit tricky to pronounce so what everyone calls me is Chaitha. That’s where my artist name “Chaitha” came from.
2.Where are you from and Where are you based?
I was born and raised in the bay area of California.
3.At What age did you start making music?
I’ve always loved writing lyrics whether it was to a random youtube beat that I liked or even for a school project. I have a note pages on my phone full of lyrics that I’ve written over the years just as a fun hobby. However, I never in my wildest imagination thought that I would actually be taking music and songwriting seriously. I only actually started making music during this year’s Coronavirus quarantine. I started by posting remixes of well known songs to instagram by recording myself in the car with my phone just because I was bored and it was something fun to do. To my pleasant surprise, people loved them and I received a lot of positive feedback so I decided to start making professionally produced songs of my own. I got a mic, DAW and everything else that I knew absolutely nothing about a couple weeks prior. I was 18 when I put out my debut song “Thinking Lately” about 4 months ago and I am 19 now. I currently have 3 songs out and music is no longer just a fun hobby. It is a dream that I am pursuing and have fully dedicated myself to.
4.What genre would you consider yourself?
I would put my music under the genre of Contemporary/Alternative R&B. I love to make chill/calming music with a catchy hip hop touch to it.
5.Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.
My most recent song “Look Up at the Stars” is a song I wrote with the message of staying optimistic through the obstacles and struggles of everyday life. This is symbolized as “looking up at the stars” in the song
6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?
Drake. He has been my biggest musical inspiration and seeing his dominant, worldwide success motivates me to work harder on my craft each and every day.
