DISCOVERY OF THE DAY: “FOCUS” BY THE OUTSTANDING WMC

Captivating and outstanding, here are two words that come to mind when you listen to the first note of “Focus”, by WMC, a Brooklyn Artist, Singer, and Songwriter.

The track stands out from the crowd thanks to memorable energy and a flow between R&B, Hip-Hop, and unique creativity. Our redaction craves for artists like WMC, who brings new vibes to the table.

The song blends in melodic and soulful music, giving the track a sentimental backdrop that elevates the emotional power level. While WMC’s rhyming skills are enough to stand on their own, what makes the song interesting is that it’s put together artistically and with genuine style.

The man has good taste, and you can tell he really does put his heart into his music. There’s a coherent aesthetic vision here, and it works.

The title is actually appropriate, as the pacing is methodical and deliberate. There’s plenty of balance and discipline in the song’s progression Steady works as a club or party track, yet it has a reflective and meditative quality as well.

It’s very hypnotic. I expect we’ll be hearing more from these artists in the future. Definitely some potential here.

stage name: WMC

2.Where are you from and Where are you based?

Brooklyn, New York

3.At What age did you start making music?

13 years of age I started making music (my mom and her twin sister were singers as well so I grew up around music and became influenced)

4.What genre would you consider yourself?

Rap and r&b

5.Tell us about your latest track or Video ( what is it all about)–Please explain the concept or message.

The song is about going through a breakup in which the girl left you for another guy which leaves you lost and confused, so everytime she crosses your mind you have too go out to bars and drink until your drunk enough to forget then walk home through the silent nights. Drinking is all in Hope’s of forgetting all about the situation. After doing that acouple of times you realize you have to focus and can’t keep going down this dark path with alcohol. You realized what goes around comes around so just focus on bettering yourself and let the universe take care of the rest.

6.If you were given a chance, which Artist would you love to perform with?

Drake(rapper) and Rema (afrobeat artist). Drake would be my first choice because of his versatility and longevity in the rap industry. I would get so many words of wisdom from him and understand crowd control by just watching him. Rema on the other hand would be amazing to perform with because I have a few afrobeat inspired tracks I made which could be used to perform alongside him. I’ve been watching remas come up ever since his hit single “Dumebi”.
